At 4pm 18/08/2015, our upstream providers will be performing a UPS maintenance..   At this time the UPS will be taken out of the loop and the servers will be on straight utility power at this time.  No downtime is expected.  The window is 4 hours, but they expect it will take approximately 2 hours to complete.  UPDATE - This has now been completed. No issues were experienced.

We are aware of another Domain Name scam doing the rounds which appears to be affecting international domains like .COM. This scam takes the form of the scammer emailing domain owner, and saying that their domain name is due for renewal, and is at risk of expiring. In this case the organization contacting you is not us, the 'Lounge Network', but a company calling themselves 'Domain Services'. The scam takes the form of them telling you that your domain is due to expire, and asking for your credit card so you can renew the domain through them. However as they are not the registrar of the domain, they will not be able to renew the domain, so they will essentially be taking you money. The amount they are charging is also almost double what we charge, and there is the risk that if you do follow their instructions, you could potentially lose your domain name if they take control of it. As of April 21st Google will begin to rank mobile search results, on the mobile-friendliness of your website. This means that if your website hasn’t been built to be mobile friendly, it may not rank well in mobile search results, and this could be a major problem for your business. This means all that money you may have spent on website design and SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) may have been in vain if most of your visitors are mobile based, and your website ranks poorly in mobile searches. As you may have noticed, CPanel now gives you the option to switch to the all new interface theme. The new theme is called Paper Lantern The new CPanel theme has an all new modern look to it, and is the first major change to the CPanel interface for several years. You can easily switch between the two themes from the CPanel front page by selecting the paper_lantern theme from the theme dropdown menu.

Time is running out to register your shorter .nz domain. If you're eligible to register or reserve the shorter version of your .nz name, you've only got until 1pm 30 March 2015 to register and pay for your domain. Most of our clients who wanted the shorter version of their NZ domain, have already registered it. If you don't register and pay for the shorter .NZ domain before 1pm 30 March 2015 , the shorter .NZ domain will be released into the public pool for anyone else to register it. On Thursday afternoon (26/02/2015) there will be a PHP version upgrade on the Auckland PHP 5.3 cluster. The PHP version will be moving from 5.3.3 to 5.3.29. We are not expecting any impact to sites running on the PHP 5.3 cluster. If you notice any issues with your PHP 5.3 sites following this upgrade, please submit a support ticket.

Over the last few months our upstream providers have been rolling out a new shared platform onto CPanel servers to take them to the next level. Services affected: Any websites using our legacy nameservers on our Corporate and Business Plan and DNS only Nameservers. Issue: Customers that have had glue records set-up to point to our legacy nameservers that use ns1.nameserver.net.nz, ns2.nameserver.net.nz and ns3.nameserver.net.nz , and are using the following nameserver IPs (NS1 202.89.43.1 and NS2 66.29.25.63) will need to update the IP addresses to the following ones below: NS1: 119.47.119.1 NS2: 54.67.27.45 NS3: 118.127.36.80 Our providers have added the old legacy IP address of 202.89.43.1 back to the Ns1 nameserver for the time being, but we urge all our customers to add the current IP range to avoid any further issues.
