Following on from the price increase that the NZ Domain Name Commissioner recently announced, the NZ Registrar Dreamscape Networks will be passing on this price increase from July. From the 1st of July 2025 domains ending with the .NZ extension will increase by $5 including GST. We are not passing on the full price increase that Dreamscape charge us, which means we are not making any margin from this increase. Previously the price was $52.99 inc GST for .NZ domain names, and this will increase to $57.99 from the 1st July. Some other international domain extensions will also increase on this date. Due to increasing costs some domain name extensions are increasing in price. All .NZ domains will increase from $NZ 44.94, to $NZ 49.95 per year. This is actually our first price increase for .NZ domains in the 20 plus years we have been in business. It is also only a $5 increase as we have tried to keep the increase as small as possible. We have been informed by our Domain Name Provider that there is a wholesale increase in the price of some domain extensions. This wholesale price increase includes .COM, .XYZ, .MONSTER, .CO, .BIZ, .CLUB, and .DESIGN domains. Unfortunately this has meant we have had to increase the price of most of these domains. We have however decided for the moment to retain the current .com price, even though our wholesale price has increased. Our upstream providers are moving accounts across to an all new platform. With this migration, hosting prices will be changing. The new plans will include 15 times more total diskspace. People who need more diskspace than this in the future will also be able to upgrade to higher diskspace plans.  We haven't increased our prices in over a decade, despite inflation and increasing costs. So the new plans will be more expensive to account for the increased costs. Some hosting clients were already paying extra fees for additional diskspace storage on the old network, due to exceeding the quota that came with the plan. As the new plans include a lot of extra diskspace, those clients will be paying less in total for their hosting service with us. This is just a note to let clients know that we will no longer be accepting payments by cheque. This is because New Zealand banks are phasing them out. So any payments need to be made by direct credit through your bank using our bank account details.
