What is happening? From November 13th the NZ Domain Registrar Dreamscape Networks will be rolling out a new 2FA system for the  NZ Domain Manager   ( https://www.domainmanager.co.nz ) . This will apply to all Domain Management  accounts by adding 2FA verification checkpoints for certain account management actions to increase the security of all accounts. [Important] Upcoming changes to credit card payments inside the Domain Manager

We are notifying all domain name clients of an upcoming new feature being rolled out by the Domain Registrars (Dreamscape Networks) payment gateway providers who handle the transactions for purchases and renewals of Domain Name services via the NZ Domain Manager   (  https://www.domainmanager.co.nz  ) with Dreamscape Networks, via Credit Card. What is the feature? If your credit card-issuing bank supports an Account Updater service and you have been issued a replacement card, Dreamscape Networks payment gateway providers may perform a lookup during the payment process to obtain your updated card details. Where available, the updated card information will be used to process your transaction and maintain continuity of your service with Dreamscape Networks, reducing the need for you to manually update your card details. When will this feature be available? Starting from 1 December 2026 this feature will be rolled out across accounts. Does this feature apply to me? ...

PHP Vulnerability Proactively Disabling Control Panel Access - October 21, 2026

Due to the PHP vulnerabilities that were announced today by the PHP foundation, our hosts are taking proactive steps. For those clients using our USA based hosting: The host has disabled control panel access to any and all servers.  It has made international news since PHP powers 70% of the internet websites.  https://www.reuters.com/business/php-programming-language-developers-issue-new-version-fixing-critical-2026-10-21/ The control panel vendors are feverishly working to update the PHP versions for their software and the hosts are awaiting a secure release of that.  Until they receive confirmation that there are updates flowing to servers, they have taken the proactive approach to disable control panel access across all servers that they operate.  If you cannot login to the control panel, it's because they have disabled access.  They will re-open access once the patches have been applied to the servers. For those clients hosted on Dreamscape Networks, this is...

RESOLVED - DDoS Attack on the Datacentre hosting the Wildcat and Gemini servers

The data centre has now successfully mitigated the DDoS (Distributed Denial-of-Service) attack and has implemented enhanced DDoS protection across all hosted servers. This is the first time in the provider's 20-year history that they have experienced a DDoS attack of this scale. The size and complexity of the attack required extensive reconfiguration of their systems to restore full connectivity and implement additional DDOS protection. As a result, the issue took longer to resolve than a typical service disruption.  The provider will continue to closely monitor the network to ensure the new measures are operating effectively and to respond promptly should any further DDoS attacks occur. Unfortunately, DDoS attacks are becoming increasingly common and more powerful. Hosting providers worldwide are experiencing these attacks from time to time, which can result in website and connectivity issues while mitigation measures are implemented. If you are unfamiliar with DDoS attacks, we h...

Price updates for .NZ, .COM and some other TLD Domain Names

The New Zealand Domain Registrar will be increasing their .NZ domain pricing, as well as the price of some other international domain extensions from the 20th January 2026. We recommend clients renew their domains before then if they want to avoid the price increases. Most domain you can renew up to 10 years in advance. These price increases are beyond our control and are being increased on the wholesale level by the New Zealand Registrar directly to cover cost increases and improvements in infrastructure. We have no option but to pass these price increases onto the client. Please note that unlike many NZ domain name providers, we are 100% based in New Zealand and have been selling domain names since 2001, which is over 25 years. We are one of New Zealand's longest established Domain Name providers.   If you have autorenewals setup, your domain name will auto renew at the new higher prices.  You can also renew your domain for up to 10 years in advance at this lower price ...
